Peppermint Bark

Tis the season for delicious peppermint bark! Few recipes are as simple and as fun as this one. Grab the kids, a hammer, and smash some candy canes! Peppermint Bark is the perfect recipe to do with the family and as a bonus it's incredibly quick to make.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bag or 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 bag or 12 ounces white chocolate chips
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 4-5 candy canes crushed place in a ziplock bag and smash with a kitchen mallet.

Method
 

  1. Prepare a 9x9 baking pan (Or any pan you can fit in the fridge) by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave at 20 sec intervals. Stirring between each interval.
  3. Spread the melted chocolate in the pan and set aside.
  4. Melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave at 20 sec intervals. Stirring between intervals.
  5. Add in the peppermint extract and mix well.
  6. Spread the white chocolate on top of the dark chocolate in your pan.
  7. Sprinkle the crushed candy canes on top and allow to set in the fridge.

Notes

Spicy Bark
  • For a little boost, you can use spicy candy canes instead of regular ones to give your bark a bit of a bite! Mix and match flavors!
